The Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine (ESIM) is a not-for-profit professional society registered by Authority for Civil Society Organizations since 2013. It has a diverse community of clinicians, researchers and educators in the field of Internal Medicine with a shared passion for improving lives. It aims to improve healthcare quality through clinical service, research, education and advocacy.

ESIM & WCEA

The Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine via a collaboration with WCEA (Partner of the World Medical Association), has launched a free branded online platform and mobile app with an array of Free CPD resources for all medical practitioners from globally respected providers.

The App allows you to study online & offline. We will soon be providing free access to journals and articles and we are hosting webinars for which you will be able to register within the App.

Webinar: Malaria in Ethiopia: Progress in Control and Remaining Challenges.

Part 1: Challenges in management of Malaria. 

Speaker: Professor Danial Yilma. Daniel is an Internal medicine Physician who obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen. 

Part 2: Malaria Control and Elimination in Ethiopia. 

Speaker: Dr. Samuel Girma –  Serving as senior malaria advisor at USAID/Ethiopia in Health Office, President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) team for the past 6 years. Dr. Samuel holds an MD degree from Jimma University, speciality certificate in internal medicine from Addis Ababa University, and a Master of Public Health from Gondar University.

     Mentorship is very important in launching individual research careers, building research teams at the group level, and sustaining research institutions over time. Research mentorship contributes to the career development by instilling a culture of learning through research, generating knowledge, and communicating findings. Nurturing research mentorship within Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine
(ESIM) helps to improve quality of research outputs and health service.

 

     Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine (ESIM) is a diverse community of physician and other subspecialty, researchers and clinicians, and residents and fellows. ESIM seek to foster leadership and excellence in the practice of Internal Medicine through research, education, and advocacy for health promotion and disease management. Although members of ESIM are contributing in evidence
generation at various levels, it is important to support members to strengthen the number and quality
of research outputs to improve health service in Ethiopia and beyond.
